Anyone yearning to see Indiana football host Florida International will have to wait — almost seven years to be exact — before the two teams meet on the gridiron.
After Hurricane Irma forced the cancellation of the game Saturday between the Hoosiers and the Panthers, the two teams have agreed to play on Aug. 31, 2024, according to CNHI Sports’ Terry Hutchens.
Glass also said that Indiana and FIU will make up this year's game on Aug. 31, 2024.

The scheduled game was canceled Monday as the Panthers concluded they wouldn’t be able to make the trip to Bloomington, Ind., this week. Florida International is located in Miami.
“[Hoosiers athletic director Fred] Glass and FIU athletic director Pete Garcia have been in regular communication since Sunday about the situation,” Indiana said in a news release, “and with FIU classes being canceled, several FIU players and coaches being from the South Florida area, along with the considerable logistical hurdles to overcome in traveling to Bloomington, the decision to cancel the game was made late on Monday evening.”
The Hoosiers, now with a week off, immediately began searching for a 12th game to fill their schedule and found one on Tuesday in FCS opponent Charleston Southern. The game will take place Oct. 7.
