Former Saint Mary’s center Evan Fitzner has joined Indiana basketball as a graduate transfer, according to a report by 247Sports’ Jeff Rabjohns on Thursday.
Fitzner chose Indiana over Rutgers, Boise State, Utah, Tulane and UC-Santa Barbara. The report stated that Fitzner visited Indiana earlier this week. Fitzner must have enjoyed his visit to Bloomington, because it didn’t take him long to announce his decision thereafter.

According to NCAA transfer rules, Fitzner will immediately be eligible to play with the Hoosiers this season.
The 6-foot-10, 230-pound Fitzner joins an Indiana team that finished with an overall record of 16–15 (9–9 in Big Ten play) in 2017-18.
In 105 games over three seasons with the Gaels, Fitzner averaged 6.4 points and 3.5 rebounds, while shooting 54.1 percent from the field and 41.4 percent from 3-point range.
