Go ahead, jump: Derek Drouin becomes the fifth Indiana Hoosier to grab a gold medal in Rio
And Derek Drouin makes it five.
The Indiana alum earned the fifth gold medal by a Hoosiers athlete at the Rio 2016 games on Tuesday night after winning the men’s high jump for Team Canada with a height of 7’9.75:

It’s the eighth medal won this month by a former Indiana student-athlete. According to Mike Pegram of Peegs.com, that’s the most in a single summer games since Munich in 1972, when IU alum Mark Spitz won seven golds in men’s swimming.
Drouin — who took bronze in the high jump in 2012 — finished in style, too, with zero misses over six attempts:
