Dan Dakich has a long history of getting in Twitter fights. His latest 140-character scuffle got him challenged to a real fight — from another Indiana alumnus.
Former Indiana quarterback Zander Diamont took a shot at Dakich on Twitter. A few Tweets later, he was challenging the former Indiana basketball player/coach to a fight.
It all starten when a fan brought up Dakich in Diamont’s Twitter mentions. Diamont said he “couldn’t stand” Dakich, who quickly told Diamont that nobody gave a “rat’s ass” what he thought.
The spat went on for a while after Diamont — who played in 16 games for the Hoosiers from 2014-16 — threw down the challenge for Dakich to meet him in the octagon. He also told the ESPN basketball commentator that “I’d put your face in the cement, old man.”
Here’s most of the back and forth:
While it doesn’t look like the throw down in the octagon is going to happen, Twitter fights are nothing new for Dakich, who was an assistant under Bob Knight in Bloomington from 1985-97 and also was the head coach at Bowling Green. Earlier this year, Dakich got in quarrels with Tom Izzo and Frank Kaminsky among others.
