Illinois has added to its 2018 recruiting class by poaching a prospect from an in-state rival.
According to Scout.com, Danville High School offensive tackle Julian Pearl flipped his commitment from Northern Illinois to Illinois after reportedly visiting the Champaign campus Thursday.

Pearl, who is not rated by 247Sports’ star system, committed to Northern Illinois in February. The 6-foot-7-inch, 245-pound Pearl becomes only the second commit in Lovie Smith’s 2018 class, joining quarterback Coran Taylor.
