Unije, a 3-star tackle out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., is ranked as the No. 32 player at his position on the 247Sports composite system. Unije is Illinois’ second-highest rated commit in the Class of 2018 behind defensive tackle Calvin Avery, who committed in August.
Unije has the size college coaches are looking for in a tackle recruit at 6-foot-5 and 303 pounds. That size could make him a candidate to play early in his Illinois career, as the Illini started freshmen at four of five spots on the offensive line this season.
