ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Jeff George Jr. will start at quarterback for Illinois today against Michigan.
The Champaign News-Gazette reported that George, a redshirt freshman, will start in place of Chayce Crouch, who was 6-for-14 passing for 92 yards and a touchdown, and was intercepted once last week in a win against Rutgers. Crouch sustained a shoulder injury.
George has played in one game for the Illini. He took six snaps late in the Illini’s 52-3 win Sept. 3 against Murray State. He is the son of former Illinois quarterback Jeff George.
