Hobbs is rated as the 23rd-best recruit in the state of Kentucky and the 267th-best cornerback in the 2017 class, according to 247 Sports. He is the second recruit to make a pledge to Illinois this week. Kendrick Green, a 3-star DT, did so Thursday night.
Hobbs is the 15th member of the 2017 Illinois recruiting class, and its first cornerback. The class was rated 49th in the nation by 247 Sports prior to Hobbs’ commitment.
