Sophomore OL Darta Lee, sophomore TE Zarrian Holcombe and incoming OL Howard Watkins were arrested May 10 after an alleged incident at a campus dorm. The trio reportedly entered a student’s dorm room wearing masks and using a BB gun and went through his personal belongings.
Lee and Holcombe were already suspended from team activities at the time, while Watkins was immediately suspended after the arrest. All three are reportedly being held on bond.
“These allegations, if true, fail to live up to the standards we expect of our student-athletes,” Lovie Smith said after the arrests. “We continue to gather information and will take appropriate steps based upon what we learn.”
According to the Chicago Tribune, the three men have claimed they were pulling a prank on the alleged victim.
