It’s been a while since the Illinois football team shot up North to Chicago to play at Soldier Field.
But for the first time since 2015, the Fighting Illini will host a home game at the legendary stadium against USF on Sept. 15, 2018. Tickets are now on sale.

The Illini announced in 2016 that their biannual games against Northwestern at Soldier Field would return to campus sites but said they would continue to play nonconference games there.
Since then though, they have not and the game against the Bulls will be the first since a 42-21 loss to the Wildcats in 2015. Before that, they played Washington in 2013 and fell 34-24.
