Lovie Smith’s 2017 class at Illinois is up to 25 players.
After watching National Letters of Intent roll in during the morning, Smith and the Illini got a commitment from Florida defensive end Bobby Roundtree on Wednesday afternoon. Roundtree is a 3-star DE from Largo, Fla.

Roundtree (6-foot-5, 230 pounds) is the No. 63 strongside defensive end in the class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He’s the 25th commit in the Illinois class, which was ranked 43rd in the nation and ninth in the Big Ten after Roundtree’s pledge.
Roundtree was also considering Indiana, but a visit to Bloomington, Ind., last weekend wasn’t enough to get him to commit to the Hoosiers.
