On Monday, Illinois basketball lost forward Michael Finke due to transfer.
But, it wasn’t only Finke who was deciding to leave the program. Te’Jon Lucas — a point guard — announced his decision on Monday as well.

Lucas, who had some success with the Fighting Illini this season, started 19 games.
Te'Jon Lucas' last four games for Illinois: 10.8 PPG, 4.5 APG. Looking like a quality young piece for Illinois at PG. Very good feel.

Unlike Finke, who is pursuing a graduate transfer, Lucas is just a sophomore and will have to sit a season after transferring. The 6-foot guard from Milwaukee, Wis. was ranked as a 3-star prospect according to 247Sports, and was the No. 3 player in the state of Wisconsin in the Class of 2016.
Finke and Lucas haven’t been the only Fighting Illini players to announce their departure from the program since the end of the season either.
Graduated/Left Illinois Program Since End of Season:
-Mark Alstork (Graduation)
-Mark Smith (Transfer)
-Leron Black (Pursuing Pro Career)
-Michael Finke (Transfer)
-Te'Jon Lucas (Transfer)
A lot of new faces coming to State Farm Center next season.

Brad Underwood, who will be a second-year coach at Illinois next season, absolutely has some holes to fill in order to make up his roster for 2018-19. Illinois went 14-18 overall in Underwood’s first season after going 20-15 the year prior to Underwood arriving.
