Mike Bellamy was one of the many coaches replaced by Lovie Smith after he took over for Bill Cubit and Tim Beckman at Illinois. The former wide receivers coach is now headed to the SEC.
Bellamy announced on Twitter Wednesday night he was joining Mississippi State’s staff, although his role is uncertain.

Bellamy played for the Illini during the 1988-89 seasons and spent five years in the NFL. The Bulldogs will be his second collegiate coaching job.
