Being a highly ranked prospect with an SEC school in his state probably led to seven of the 10 teams on his list coming from that conference, but it is Lovie Smith’s team that is the lone representative from the Big Ten.
Smith has the NFL card he can play with top-end high school prospects, so for a highly touted kid to buy in wouldn’t be farfetched, despite the Fighting Illini’s lack of recent success. Adeoye is ranked as the No. 5 inside linebacker in his class. He attends Ritenour High School.
For what it’s worth, the crystal ball predictions at 247Sports have the 6-foot-2, 219-pound tackling machine at 100 percent going to Illinois.
