The 2018 NCAA women’s ice hockey championship gets started on Saturday, March 10. Eight teams are standing in the tournament field, and all of them will be in action Saturday. The winners of Saturday’s games will head to the Frozen Four in Minneapolis next weekend. The semifinals and championship game will take place at Ridder Arena.

NCAA women’s ice hockey tournament: Championship history
The NCAA women’s ice hockey tournament has been played since 2001. Clarkson, the top seed in the 2018 tournament, is the defending champ, and the program is looking for its third title in five years. Minnesota has the most titles of any program with six. Minnesota-Duluth (five championships) and Wisconsin (four championships) are the only other programs to win the NCAA women’s ice hockey championship. Minnesota and Clarkson have combined to win the last six titles.
