Going into what’s looking like a dramatic weekend full of big showdowns, the Big Ten is in good shape when it comes to getting multiple teams into the College Football Playoff.
USA Today’s panel held another mock draft to pick teams for the playoff, with both Ohio State and Michigan making the top 4. Alabama ranked first (10 No. 1 votes), with Ohio State second (two No. 1 votes), Louisville third (one No. 1 vote) and Michigan fourth.
But Wisconsin is within striking distance. The Badgers picked up one vote for fourth to join the board as they prepare for Saturday’s game at Michigan.
With Wisconsin-Michigan and Louisville-Clemson this weekend, the playoff outlook will look very different this time next week. If the Wolverines win, they’ll strengthen their positioning. But if Wisconsin wins, the Badgers will again gain more respect and continue their rise in the polls and in the playoff race — they’ll have a very strong claim to be in the top 4.
In the ACC, the winner of the Louisville-Clemson could grab No. 1 votes and make a jump toward the top.
