NFL.com draft analyst Chad Reuter this week is releasing his list of the top 50 college football players for next season, and on Tuesday he delivered Nos. 31-40. While the top 30 remains unknown, three Big Ten players, including a pair of Ohio State Buckeyes, have made the list thus far.
Buckeyes OG Billy Price just made the cut, coming at No. 50. Reuter called the 6-foot-4, 312-pound Price “nasty,” and that’s not a bad thing:
Price is nasty, and that’s a compliment. He possesses the short-area quickness and anchor to be an All-American pass protector and run blocker.
Another Buckeye came in at No. 32 and is currently the highest-rated Big Ten player revealed: DE Nick Bosa. In 13 games last season, Bosa had 29 tackles, including 7 for loss, and 5 sacks.
With his older brother and former Buckeye, Joey Bosa, entering his second season with the Los Angeles Chargers, Nick is expected to be a household name next season, as well.
That third Big Ten player on the list comes in between the two Buckeyes, at No. 46: Wisconsin TE Troy Fumagalli. Reuter made it a point to note Fumagalli’s importance to the Badgers offense based on the way Wisconsin uses him:
The Badgers’ passing game uses Fumagalli as a crutch because of his size, reliable routes, and strong hands. He’ll be an excellent pro.
Fumagalli had 47 receptions for 580 yards and 2 touchdowns as a junior in 2016.
