We’re still a few weeks away from the start of the season, but the Big Ten is generating plenty of hype.
FOX Sports’ Stewart Mandel ranked what he considered the top 20 games of the season, with Michigan-Ohio State ranking highly. Very, very highly.
As in No. 1.
Mandel said this year’s Michigan at Ohio State game could feature two playoff contenders as the Wolverines look to close the gap on the Buckeyes following the 42-13 blowout from a year ago. If the two are fighting for playoff positioning (or their playoff lives), this would be the most talked about game in the rivalry since the 2006 No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown the day after Bo Schembechler died.
Here are the other Big Ten games Mandel also had on his list:
No. 20: Michigan at Iowa
The Wolverines have to deal with this road trip two weeks before going to Columbus.
No. 16: Wisconsin vs. LSU
The game could be fun, but any college football game at Lambeau Field is enough to make this appointment viewing.
No. 6: Ohio State at Michigan State
This has ended up being for the division title. Will it be that way in 2016?
No. 4: Ohio State at Oklahoma
We get two powerful programs facing off early in the season in a non-conference game. Yes, please.
