One of the nation’s top power forwards revealed his top six schools on Tuesday and three Big Ten squads made the list.
Four-star power forward Theo John mentioned Illinois, Minnesota and Purdue in his list, which he revealed on Twitter Tuesday afternoon. California, Marquette and Oklahoma also made the Champlin, Minn., native’s list.

John is rated as the No. 26 power forward nationally in the Class of 2017 and the No. 3 prospect in the state of Minnesota. He’s received nine scholarship offers, including offers from Iowa, Maryland and Nebraska.
John would represent a major signing for the hometown Golden Gophers. In fact, John would be Richard Pitino’s first commitment of his 2017 class. Purdue also lacks a 2017 commitment.
Illinois has three commitments for 2017, including a verbal from 5-star power forward Jeremiah Tilmon. The Illini would have an embarrassment of riches at the position if they also landed John.
