Penn State and Nebraska are both on the outside looking in of the NCAA Tournament in Joe Lunardi’s bracket projection following the Big Ten Tournament.
The Nittany Lions and the Huskers are among the “next four out” in ESPN’s Bracketology, and they would need a lot to go their way to sneak into the NCAA Tournament field on Selection Sunday. Penn State was Lunardi’s sixth team out of the field. Nebraska was eighth.

The Nittany Lions (21-13) helped their cause during the Big Ten Tournament, but maybe not quite enough. Penn State beat Northwestern and then upset second-seeded Ohio State at Madison Square Garden before falling to Purdue in the semifinals.
Nebraska (22-10), meanwhile, had a disappointing trip to the Big Apple. The Huskers were blown out, 77-58, by eventual champion Michigan in their first game of the tournament.
The rest of the major conferences play their conference tournaments this week. Penn State and Nebraska fans will have to root for losses by other bubble teams.
