Well, this was an odd way to start a game.
In the Big Ten Tournament women’s basketball semifinal between Nebraska and Maryland on Saturday, a technical foul was called before the game began.
Nebraska was issued the technical because of a jersey number being changed after the allotted time.
Take a look:
The score was 1-0 before the ball was even tipped.

Thanks to the technical foul, Maryland got to shoot two free throws before the ball was tipped. The Terrapins made one and began the game with a 1-0 lead.
The Terrapins are the No. 2 seed in the tournament while the Cornhuskers are the No. 3 seed. The winner will take on No. 1-seeded Ohio State at 7 p.m. on Sunday in the title game.
