KenPom places 13 Big Ten teams in preseason top 100
Ken Pomeroy, who sets the standard for advanced analysis of college basketball, is forecasting another solid year for the Big Ten.
KenPom rated all 351 Division I programs ahead of the 2016-17 season. He has five teams from the Big Ten in his preseason top 25, and a whopping 13 teams in his top 100. Rankings are based on teams’ projected adjusted efficiency margin.
The Wisconsin Badgers lead the way at No. 8, but there are surprises after that.
KenPom projects a return to prominence for Ohio State, which missed the NCAA Tournament last season. He has the Buckeyes at No. 13, the second-highest in the Big Ten.
Michigan State, Purdue and Indiana all follow in successive order in spots 14-16.
