Wide receiver Jacob Copeland chose to attend Florida over Alabama and Tennesse on Wednesday, and his mother was less than pleased. After Copeland, a 4-star recruit from Pensacola, Florida, grabbed the Florida hat and placed it on his head, his mother, clad in an Alabama hoodie and a Tennessee beanie, walked off without comment. Copeland remained sitting, not glancing at his mom.
You can watch the cringeworthy scene below:

National Signing Day is traditionally a joyous occassion for high school football players across the nation. They celebrate with families and friends, christening their decision by plopping the hat of the school they will be attending on their head. Cheers, hugs and smiles follow.
That didn’t happen at first for Copeland, who 247 Sports ranks the No. 13 wide receiver recruit in the nation and the No. 15 player in the state of Florida. But then his mother returned to the scene, and wrapped her arms her around her son, providing somewhat of a resolution to a most non-traditional signing day experience.

Copeland had interest from the Big Ten, with Michigan, Ohio State and Nebraska all extending offers.
