After career days, Iowa QB Nate Stanley and Wisconsin RB Jonathan Taylor are the Big Ten’s big award winners on offense.
The two players shared Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors for leading their teams to important wins. Stanley led the Hawkeyes to a 44-41 overtime win at in-state rival Iowa State. Taylor dominated on the ground in the Badgers’ 31-14 win against Florida Atlantic. Taylor also won the conference’s Freshman of the Week award.
- QB Nate Stanley, Iowa: 27-for-41 passing, 333 yards, 5 touchdowns
- RB Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin: 223 yards, 3 touchdowns
Stanley, a sophomore, completed passes to nine receivers as the Hawkeyes rallied to stun the Cyclones. He was also the first Iowa quarterback with 300 yards and 5 touchdowns in a game since 1987.
The freshman Taylor stepped in and became the fourth freshman in Badgers history to rush for 200 yards in a game (Alan Ameche, Ron Dayne and Zach Brown).
