Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor and Nebraska wide receiver JD Spielman were among the six Big Ten selections on the Freshman All-American team released by the Football Writers Association of America on Monday.
Taylor, Spielman, Iowa offensive tackle Alaric Jackson, Wisconsin center Tyler Biadasz, Northwestern linebacker Paddy Fisher and Michigan punt returner Donovan Peoples-Jones were all listed on the team.

Taylor, the Badgers’ star running back, finished with 1,977 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on 299 carries. Taylor eclipsed the 100-yard mark in 10 of Wisconsin’s 14 games this season, including his 130-yard showing in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30.
Spielman had 830 yards on 55 catches and scored 2 touchdowns in 11 games for the Huskers in 2017. He had a 200-yard game against Ohio State on Oct. 14.
Peoples-Jones had 320 punt return yards and had 1 return for a touchdown for the Wolverines. He also had 277 receiving yards during his freshman campaign. On defense, Fisher led Northwestern with 113 tackles — 9 of which went for a loss.
