The NCAA Selection Committee previewed its current top-16 teams in the NCAA Tournament, or in other words the 1-seeds through 4-seeds.
However, what was missing from that list was a Big Ten team. More specifically, Wisconsin and Purdue, which were expected to be in the running for one of those 16 spots. CBS Sports’ Jon Solomon hit the nail on the head when it comes to the Big Ten’s absence.
Is the Big Ten playing basketball this year? https://t.co/56nMRwWVZW

Following the snub of the Big Ten, fans of the Badgers and Boilermakers and Twitter-users alike voiced their displeasure.
On paper, No. 7 Wisconsin (21-1, 10-1) had the best chance at scoring one of the top-16 rankings, but the Badgers were left out in favor of the likes of West Virginia, Butler, UCLA and Duke.
Many fans were not happy.
I know this is pretty much meaningless with lots of basketball yet to play, but Wisconsin not being included here is surprising. https://t.co/5VmsRc2mNH

I am fairly shocked they didn't even say the word "Wisconsin" though. It's like they don't even know they're a team lol

No. 16 Purdue (20-5, 9-3) was next up if the Badgers were left out, but the Boilermakers didn’t make the cut, either. Although the snub hurt, Boilermaker fans were a little more subdued than Badgers fans. Even the official Purdue basketball Twitter account took to social media with a reaction.
Just keep winning. #Purdue
