ESPN’s Rece Davis: Alabama, Ohio State have ‘earned separation’
The Ohio State-Michigan “who’s better” debate doesn’t have a clear answer … right?
Though the AP Poll has the two rivals Nos. 2 and 3, ESPN’s Rece Davis doesn’t think that means they’re almost even based on season results. Not at all.
Davis ranked Alabama No. 1 and then Ohio State second and Michigan No. 3 but made it clear there’s a gap between the Buckeyes and the rest.
First 4: 1. @AlabamaFTBL 2. @OhioStateFB 3. @UMichFootball 4. @ClemsonFB nobody is invincible, but top 2 have earned separation

Davis went on to rank Wisconsin No. 8 and and Nebraska No. 9. He said both Nebraska and West Virginia need a signature win, and that “they are charging.”
Four more: 9. @HuskerFBNation 10. @WVUfootball 11. @UHCougarFB 12. @BUFootball ; Neb and WVU just need signature win. They are charging.

The Ohio State-or-Michigan question won’t slow down until the two finally play. Though both beat top-10 Wisconsin by seven points, it seems the Buckeyes’ road win in overtime is more impressive to national analysts. Michigan outgained the Badgers 349 to 159 (Ohio State was actually outgained 450 to 411), but some field-goal woes kept the game close at 14-7. Plus, Michigan got the win at home.
Regardless, in the big picture, Michigan just needs to keep winning. Do that, and any “separation” will disappear.
