Michigan scored 78 points as Jabrill Peppers dominated again. Penn State’s RB Saquon Barkley rushed for more than 200 yards. It was a big day for some of the Big Ten’s stars.
So it makes sense both Barkley and Peppers led ESPN’s Brian Bennett’s Big Ten helmet sticker honors from Saturday.
Here are Bennett’s winners:
- Penn State RB Saquon Barkley: 31 carries, 202 yards, TD
- Iowa defense: Allowed only 268 yards and forced 3 turnovers in 14-7 win
- Purdue RB Brian Lankford-Johnson: Rushed for 127 yards and a TD in 34-31 win against Illinois
- Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers: Needed only 3 carries to pick up 70-plus rushing yards and two TDs and helped the Wolverines hold Rutgers to only 39 yards.
Bennett on Barkley:
We’ve been waiting for a real, breakout rushing performance from the Nittany Lions’ star sophomore, and he delivered in a 38-14 win over Maryland. Barkley ran for a career-best 202 yards on 31 carries.
ICYMI: @saquonb21 was dropping jaws again today.

Barkley’s game was only his second 100-yard game of the season — he had 105 against Kent State to begin the season. But he had the game-winning TD against Minnesota in OT and then had his huge game against Maryland. Now that he’s completely healthy and cruising, he’ll be ready for the next game: Oct. 22 against Ohio State.
