The Big Ten will send 11 teams to bowl games. Ohio State will get to the College Football Playoff. That’s what ESPN’s Mark Schlabach and Brett McMurphy agree on this week.
Then there are some big differences.
Schlabach sees the Big Ten sending both Ohio State and Michigan to the CFP, with Wisconsin heading to the Rose Bowl to give the conference three teams playing on New Year’s.
McMurphy sees only one Big Ten team in the CFP (Ohio State), with Michigan instead going to the Rose Bowl.
Also, with Northwestern’s win against Iowa, Schlabach has the Wildcats back in a bowl. But there are plenty of weeks to go and make things more interesting.
It is only Oct. 2, but here’s a look at where Big Ten teams are projected to play this bowl season:
Ohio State: College Football Playoff vs. Clemson (Schlabach)/College Football Playoff vs. Clemson (McMurphy)
