The Buckeyes, who have led the Big Ten in national title odds the entire offseason, previously sat in a three-way tie with USC and Florida State with 7-1 odds to win it all. Alabama is the only team with better odds than the Buckeyes, now listed at 3-1.
The Penn State Nittany Lions remained at 20-1 but made their way into the top eight, sitting even with defending national champion Clemson. Penn State passed Louisville, which previously was listed at 15-1.
The Michigan Wolverines, the third Big Ten school in the top eight, fell from 12-1 into a three-way tie with Oklahoma and LSU at 15-1.
