There’s a new No. 1 in college basketball in the AP Poll. But the Big Ten had a big day, too.
Gonzaga jumped two spots to No. 1, ahead of other top-5 teams Baylor, Kansas, Villanova and Arizona. Louisville, West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia and Wisconsin rounded out the top 10.
The Badgers improved from No. 15 to No. 10 this week, coming in with a record of 18-3. They were joined by fellow Big Ten teams Maryland, Purdue and Northwestern in the Top 25.
The Wildcats, at 18-4, are trying to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. They’re also the only new ranked team in this week’s poll. West Virginia was the biggest mover this week, flying up from No. 18 all the way to No. 7 thanks to the win against then-No. 2 Kansas.
