Michigan won by 56 points Saturday and is the only unbeaten Big Ten team, but the Wolverines dropped in the latest Coaches Poll.
With Alabama’s 10-0 win at LSU, Michigan wouldn’t have jumped to the No. 1 spot. But the Wolverines’ 59-3 win against Maryland wasn’t even enough to hold off Clemson for No. 2 in Sunday’s new Coaches Poll.
Also, though Nebraska dropped out of the Top 10 after its 62-3 loss at Ohio State, the Buckeyes and Wisconsin remained in the Top 10. Ohio State jumped one spot from No. 6 to No. 5 while the Badgers also went up one spot to to No. 7. The Huskers dropped 10 spots to No 20.

Penn State is closing in on the Top 10. The Nittany Lions routed Iowa 41-14 on Saturday and jumped from No. 23 to No. 14 — the biggest jump of any team in the poll. Not bad for a team that wasn’t ranked in the Coaches Poll only two weeks ago.
