Week 2 didn’t have quite the shakeup as opening weekend did, but it’s still great to get a new Coaches Poll.
The Big Ten’s four ranked teams in action all looked impressive (Michigan State, the conference’s fifth ranked team, was on a bye), so Ohio State, Michigan, Iowa and Wisconsin probably felt they deserved to at least maintain their spots in the new rankings — but Iowa did drop.
No. 4 Ohio State (was No. 4, beat Tulsa)
No. 5 Michigan (was No. 6, beat Central Florida)
No. 8 Michigan State (was No. 8, had bye)
No. 11 Iowa (was No. 10, beat Iowa State)
No. 12 Wisconsin (was No. 16, beat Akron)
Of the five ranked teams, two play fellow ranked teams in Week 3: Ohio State plays at No. 14 Oklahoma and Michigan State visits No. 18 Notre Dame.
Nebraska is the closest Big Ten team to making it into the poll, as the Huskers are receiving 47 votes. A win this upcoming week against No. 21 Oregon would likely be more than enough to send Nebraska into the rankings.
