Ohio State routed another helpless foe, this time Rutgers. Michigan got just enough to beat Wisconsin in a top-10 game.
Thanks to the wins, the Buckeyes and Wolverines are the Big Ten’s leading bowl teams, at least according to CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm. He has Ohio State facing Clemson in a College Football Playoff semifinal, with Alabama-Houston the other playoff semifinal.
Palm has three Big Ten teams in New Year’s Six games. Along with Ohio State in the playoff, Palm has Michigan in the Rose Bowl against Washington and Wisconsin against Louisville in the Orange Bowl. A week ago, he had Wisconsin in the Rose and Michigan in the Outback Bowl.
Michigan has the inside track now to the Rose Bowl as the second-ranked Big Ten team behind Ohio State after its win at home over Wisconsin. Another reason for that move was Michigan State losing its second game in a row, this time at Indiana. The Badgers still have at least one game left with Ohio State, but they still look good enough to project into the Orange Bowl against the Cardinals.
Here’s Palm’s Big Ten bowl destinations, with Northwestern back in bowl projections after the win against Iowa:
