While the next NCAA Tournament is still in the distant future, it’s never too early to start thinking about what the tourney field may look like.
That’s exactly what CBS’ Jerry Palm is doing this offseason. The expert bracketologist released his first bracket for the 2017 NCAA Tournament on Thursday, and seven Big Ten programs made the cut.
The highest-ranked seed in Palm’s prediction is Michigan State, but a few other notable programs were given high seeds.
Here is the full breakdown of where the Big Ten teams stand in Palm’s bracket.
No. 2 seed: Michigan State
No. 3 seed: Indiana, Wisconsin
No. 4 seed: Purdue
No. 6 seed: Maryland
No. 8 seed: Michigan
No. 12 seed: Iowa
Each of these programs made the field for the 2016 tournament, and despite some of these teams losing key players, it appears Palm expects them to be dancing again this year.
