CBS bowl projections: Big Ten left out of College Football Playoff
CBS Sports’s Jerry Palm has his first bowl projections of the young (pre)season, and he’s not showing much love to the Big Ten.
He’s picking the conference to get shut out of the College Football Playoff altogether, with Ohio State (Rose Bowl) and Iowa (Cotton Bowl) both heading to New Year’s Six bowls as a bitter consolation.
Oklahoma, Clemson, Alabama and Notre Dame are the teams Palm has in the top four.
What about popular Big Ten champion and playoff pick Michigan, you ask? Palm has the Wolverines relegated to the Outback Bowl and a date with Mississippi. Last year’s representative Michigan State was picked to play in the Citrus Bowl.
Palm also has Nebraska, Northwestern, Maryland, Penn State, Minnesota, Indiana and Wisconsin going bowling.
