At the end of the college football season, Fresno State will most likely be looking for a new head coach after firing Tim DeRuyter and replacing him with offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau.
But that doesn’t mean Bulldog officials aren’t looking now and it doesn’t stop Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports from speculating on seven coaches who could take the job.
Two of the names he listed were Big Ten names.
First was Michigan offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Tim Drevno. Feldman says Drevno is a Southern California native and has worked at USC before. He has also helped lead the Wolverines to the No. 3 spot in the nation for scoring.
Feldman also listed Wisconsin defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox. Wilcox has also worked at USC and Feldman says he’s got ties to Fresno State Athletic Director Jim Bartko from time at Oregon together.
In his first year as defensive coordinator for the Badgers, Wilcox has impressed and his unit has competed well against both Ohio State and Michigan this year.
Also listed in the article were former California head coach Jeff Tedford, Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, LSU interim head coach Ed Orgeron, USC special teams coach John Baxter and Florida offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier.
As of now, the Bulldogs are 1-7 this year.
