‘Tis the season, and on Sunday the pairings were set for the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament, which begins Wednesday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Regular season co-champions Ohio State and Maryland won’t get started until Friday.
The No. 12-ranked Buckeyes (25-5, 15-1) earned the top seed by way of their win last week over No. 2 Maryland (27-2, 15-1). Ohio State tips off at noon Friday against the winner of the 8 versus 9 matchup featuring Iowa (17-12, 8-8) and Northwestern (19-10, 8-8).
The Buckeyes beat every team in the league save for Michigan State, which beat Ohio State 94-75 on Jan. 10 in East Lansing. The Spartans (19-10, 9-7) earned the No. 6 seed and will only play Ohio State again if both teams make the championship game.
The Terrapins play at 6:30 p.m. Friday against either No. 7 seed Penn State (19-9, 9-7) or No. 10 seed Minnesota (14-15, 5-11).
Also earning double byes to the quarterfinals were No. 3 seed Michigan (22-8, 11-5) and No. 4 seed Indiana (20-9, 10-6). The Wolverines are ranked No. 25 in the AP Top 25.
The first 12 games of the tournament will be televised on Big Ten Network, with the championship game airing live at 7 p.m. Sunday on ESPN2.
