Who’s going to be the best team in the Big Ten next season in college basketball?
Well, according to Bovada, both Michigan State and Michigan will be. The betting site updated its odds on who will win the 2018-19 men’s basketball championship and the Spartans and Wolverines have exactly the same odds at 25-to-1.
Here’s a look at the Big Ten teams listed:
- Michigan State: 25-to-1
- Michigan: 25-to-1
- Indiana: 45-to-1
- Purdue: 50-to-1
- Maryland: 70-to-1
- Ohio State: 70-to-1
- Penn State: 80-to-1
- Wisconsin: 90-to-1
Last season, Michigan State was one of the favorites to win the title but lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to Syracuse. Michigan, on the other hand, made it all the way to the championship game and lost to Villanova.
Duke is the favorite for 2019 according to Bovada at 5.5-to-1. Kansas is next in line at 8-to-1, while Villanova is set at 9-to-1.
Nevada, interestingly enough, is at 22-to-1, which beats out both Michigan State and Michigan. The Wolfpack’s chances received a boost when twins Cody and Caleb Martin made the decision to return to school for their senior seasons.
