Penn State moved into the top spot in the second Land of 10 Power Poll for the 2017 season. The Nittany Lions jumped up one spot to No. 1 after Saturday’s 33-14 win against rival Pitt.
But the big reason for the change was because of what happened at the top: Ohio State. The previously top-ranked Buckeyes lost at home to Oklahoma, 31-16, to drop to third in the Power Poll after Penn State and No. 2 Michigan.
The Nittany Lions received 12 of the 13 No. 1 votes. Michigan got the other.
Minnesota made the largest jump in this week’s poll, moving up from No. 10 to No. 7 after an impressive 48-14 win at Oregon State. On the other end, Northwestern had the largest fall. After losing to Duke, the Wildcats dropped from No. 7 to No. 12.
