The Big Ten had four teams with College Football Playoff aspirations heading into the final week of the 2016 regular season. Could those same four programs knock on the CFP door again in 2017?
If Athlon Sports’ preseason rankings prove to be accurate, there’s a good chance.
Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan and Wisconsin all were ranked in the top 12 of Athlon Sports’ preseason top 25, which was released Monday. The Buckeyes were ranked the highest at No. 2 —— behind only Alabama — but three other Big Ten schools were close behind. Penn State was No. 6, Michigan was No. 10, and Wisconsin rounded out the quartet at No. 12.
Preseason rankings don’t mean much, but each of the four programs has lofty goals in 2017.
