The Walter Camp Player of the Year award honors the best player college has to offer. This year, seven Big Ten player are part of the Walter Camp watch list.
The 40-man watch list, which consists of players from 10 different conference and 30 different schools.
Although four Big Ten schools land a player on the watch list, Ohio State takes part of the spotlight here. Three Buckeyes players were named to the list. Only Alabama has more players listed with four.
Penn State is also one of seven total schools to have multiple players named to the watch list. In all, Ohio State, Alabama, Penn State, LSU, Oklahoma State, Florida State and Clemson all have multiple player named to the watch list.
It’s important to note that the eventual Walter Camp winner is not required to make this list, meaning another Big Ten player could take home the award in January.
