Four Big Ten teams are in a recruiting battle for one of the top-rated prospects in St. Louis.
Class of 2018 4-star defensive end Ronnie Perkins tweeted out a list of 12 schools he will consider in the coming months. Michigan, Illinois, Nebraska and Iowa made the cut.
Along with those four Big Ten schools, Perkins also listed Oklahoma, Missouri, Georgia, USC, Texas, LSU, TCU and Iowa State in a tweet Wednesday.

According to 247Sports, Perkins is the fourth-best player in the state of Missouri and the seventh-best weakside defensive end prospect in the nation.
247Sports also notes that Perkins has 31 offers and chose Michigan, Nebraska, Illinois and Iowa over Big Ten offers from Wisconsin, Purdue, Penn State, Indiana and Maryland.
Although schools such as Oklahoma, Michigan and LSU have offered Perkins, Illinois could be considered a dark horse to land the 4-star player. In the 2017 recruiting cycle, the Fighting Illini landed two players from St. Louis, and another from the area.
