It didn’t take long for the Big Ten to make an impact at the 2018 NFL Draft on Thursday night. Former Penn State running back Saquon Barkley went off the board at No. 2 overall, to the New York Giants.
Then came former Ohio State cornerback Denzel Ward at No. 4 to Cleveland — making the Big Ten the first conference with two alums off the board in Arlington, Texas.
Two more names familiar to Big Ten fans were selected further down in the draft — Ohio State lineman Billy Price to Cincinnati at No. 21 and Maryland wide receiver D.J. Moore to Carolina at No. 24.
That’s the first running back, first cornerback, first receiver and second center taken in the draft.
