Neither Purdue or Michigan basketball will make the Final Four of the 2018 NCAA Tournament, according to ESPN.
After a crazy first couple of rounds which saw several of the tournament’s top seeds get knocked off, ESPN updated its predictions for the Final Four. The four teams ESPN picked to make it to San Antonio are Villanova, Gonzaga, Kentucky and Duke, with Villanova defeating Kentucky in the National Championship.
Purdue is the No. 2 seed in the East Region, and will take on Texas Tech in the Sweet 16. The winner of that game will play the winner of Villanova and West Virginia in the Elite 8.
In the West Region, Michigan is one of the final four teams remaining. The Wolverines will take on Texas A&M in the Sweet 16, and the winner of that game will play the winner of Gonzaga and Florida State.
Purdue defeated Cal State Fullerton in the Round of 64 and then defeated Butler on Sunday in the Round of 32. Michigan defeated Montana in the first round and topped Houston in the second round thanks to Jordan Poole’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer.
Michigan and Texas A&M will tip off at 7:37 p.m. ET on Thursday.
Purdue and Texas Tech will tip off at 9:57 p.m. ET on Friday.
Both games will be on TBS.
